#1 The Facts

An interesting fact is, that photographers who are not specialised to landscape photographers are often able to photograph "everything", but they struggle with landscape photography. Another interesting fact is, that landscape photographers are often able to photograph "everything" in a fantastic way - independed on the genre of photography.

So is landscape photography the kings discipline as it is often called or is it more a base for photography in general? And how can we turn these facts into our advantage?

#2 The Experiment

I started an experiment with two groups. Group one is the group for photographers who are not specialised to landscape photography. Group two is the group for photographers who are landscape photographers.

The non landscape photographers have to go into landscape photography for some months - additionally to their main genre. The landscape photographers have to go into cityscape photography for some months - also additionally to their main genre - landscape photography.

The goal of the experiment is, that each participant will improve his photography significantly. It's an open experiment - everyone can join and there is no specific start and end time. Everyone can join anytime.

#3 Taking part

For the non landscape photographers:

To take part to the experiment, engage with landscape photography, engage especially with composition. Read articles, watch videos about landscape photography - try to improve your composition skills for landscape photography. It will boost your ability to build up compositions for your main genre. Post photos on instagram and use the hashtag #experimentirmler20 .

For the landscape photographers:

To take part to the experiment, engage with cityscape photography, engage especially with composition. You will see, that different things are easier, but you will struggle in other areas. You will be limitted to get out fantastic photographs, but you will improve your creativity and your ability to build up compositions for landscape photography. Post photos on instagram and use the same hashtag #experimentirmler20 .
