Sometimes I love it to take just intimate landscape shots, as composition has other requirements to end up in a working abstract image. I love the patterns, which were drawn by mother nature on this frozen pond. Finally, I decided on a section that offered a nice leading line from the bottom left, going up through an s-curve. The 9:10 crop accords harmonical to the nicely balanced elements while breaking slightly out. The light accents on the tops of some of the ice peaks build tiny accentuation points, giving us more contrast.
