I was driving down the coast road of Croatia, between Rijeka and Zadar for enjoying my summer holidays with my wife. The idea was to combine these usual beach stuff like burning in the sun and swimming in the sea - with my beloved landscape photography. As during the day it is anyway much too hot there for hiking around, the beach helped me to get creative and to plan my photographs for the next evening or morning. With a couple of possibilities for some photographs in my mind, I decided to drive up this pass road, to take a photograph, which contains that, what I personally interpret as the "elements of Croatia": Sea, bushes, burnt meadows, rocks, the sun and this amazing golden light at sunset. To be honest, I struggled massively with different things in my landscape photography holidays. For instance, I had to ditch one of my best-planned spots, as I nearly had an accident with my van, due to a way too steep road. Finally I got out some amazing photographs - this is one of them - "Elements of Croatia".
