This image was originally not planned to be offered with my prints. What happened? Yes, I planned to take a photograph at this location, but this one was only a quick scouting shot on my way to the planned spot for that day. The bridge was full with crowds and I had no more time to wait for my wished camera position, the other planned photograph was too important for me. I wanted to get back the next days, but the weather conditions got not again as I wished them. As I was fascinated by the dramatic sky and the light, I anyway put this shot into my instagram account - as bad example: Fantastic light and weather with a bad composition. Then it happened: Many photographers wrote me - I got hundrets of comments and messages - that the composition were amazing. Nobody understood my composition problems. First I thought, that they just wanted to be friendly. But as I looked at the image again, I found the mistake I made: I saw a balance problem - but not with this final composition - I saw it with the originally planned one - I mixed these two compositions and got wrong. So finally it is definitely a working composition, but it works in another way than my originally planned one. It is really stunning - intuitively I did everything right :) |
